Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships 2010 – Semi Final Games

Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships 2010 has reached the semi final stage where Jurgen Melzer from Austria will face Mikhail Youzhny from Russia and Marcos Baghdatis from Cyprus will play against Novak Djokovic from Serbia. It is certain that we will watch two exciting games today as all four players are in exceptional form.

Melzer is currently in the 31st position in the world standings and he reached the semi final after securing wins over Bolelli(6-1, 7-5), Robredo(6-3,7-5) on the first two rounds. On the quarter final he played against the Croatian Marin Cilic – number 9th in tennis world standings – where he managed to secure a hard fought win with 2-0 sets(7-6, 75).

Mikhail Youzhny faced Lacko for the first round of Dubai Tennis Championship. The young Slovakian make Yuzhny’s life difficult but the Russian player managed to secure a win with 2-1 sets (6-7, 7-6, 6-1). Next stop was the match against the German Phau where Youzhny managed to win by 2-0 sets easily and progress to the quarter finals. Youzhny is currently on the 15th position in the tennis world standings and in quarter finals he faced the Serbian Janko Tipsarevic. The Russian player benefited from the long match game of Tipsarevic against Murray and he managed to secure the win quite easily with 2-0 sets(6-3, 6-4).

Marcos Baghdatis is currently on the 37th position and he reached the semi final after securing wins over Gilles(7-6,6-4), Devvarman(6-3, 3-6, 6-1) and Berrer – who progressed to the quarter finals after Davydenko retired due to a wrist injury – with (7-6, 6-1).

Novak Djokovic is currently the number two in tennis world standings behind Roger Federer. The Serbian tennis player fought some hard battles to reach the semi finals after he had to play against Garcia-Lopez(6-4, 6-4), Troicki(3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and Ivan Ljubicic (2-6,6-4, 6-0).
