Formula 1 – End of Days for USF1 – Stephan GP denied entry
Posted on March 5, 2010 by John Trevors for Luckyroom.com
FIA has released a statement that USF1 will not participate to any race event for the 2010 Formula 1 season due to financial problems that led the company to an all stop progress of the car development. In addition, they denied entry to Serbian outfit Stephan GP team with the excuse that it is too late at this stage to grand entry to a new team and the only thing that is possible is for the team to apply for next year’s grand prix season. Furthermore, they granted permission to Campos Meta team to be renamed to HRT (as the ownership changed). It seems that something is wrong with the FIA regulations regarding potential entries to Formula 1. They luck strict time schedules where they should re-evaluate the progress of the teams plus they delayed excessively to investigate the USF1 affair. That delay, led to a denial of entry of the Stephan GP team which would brought back on track two very good drivers, Jacques Villeneuve (with thousands of fans) and Kazuki Nakajuma.
We totally agree with Jacques Villeneuve’s statement stating that Stephan GP would be better than the other new teams such as Lotus, Virgin and HRT as they were already working on last year Toyota’s competitive car. If FIA really wanted the team on board, they could easily propose an alternative to the Serbian team based on the Concord Agreement. That should have given enough time to the team to make all the necessary preparations in order to be in the starting grid as the fourth Grand Prix is scheduled for the April 18th (China). Can the new teams repeat a fraction of last year Brown GP’s success or we will watch a comedy show on Grand Prix days? We will soon have the answer to that as the first Grand Prix for the 2010 season is less than nine days away (Bahrain – 14th of March)
