The International Poker Players Association Championship is the biggest – in buy-in figure tournament on the planet and will be held in late November in the fabulous Monaco! This VIP tournament offers only 48 seats to the ambitious poker players with the winner leaving the table richer by 5 million dollars! The good news is that even if you do not have $250,000 to participate in the tournament, you can win a package for the event through the qualifiers to be held in Monaco and the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles. The buy-in for the qualifiers (or the poker satellites) start as low as $1,000; So far 13 major names in the business have confirmed their participation including Full Tilt Poker Pros, Patrick Antonius, Phil Ivey, Gus Hansen and Tom Dwan, Michael and Robert Mizrachi, Huck Seed , Johnny Chan, Freddy Deeb, Tony G of Party Poker, Bruno Fitoussi, Allen Cunningham and John Hennigan.
A new format will be applied to the qualifying live shootout tournaments. The first round will be held at tables of 10 players where the winners will receive back their buy in and they progress to the next phase then all the players that have been eliminated in the first round will have the opportunity for a rebuy worth $9.000 and progress immediately to the second round.
