Online poker rooms UB.com and Absolute Poker dropped in figures due to the Cereus Network Vulnerability

Earlier this week a vulnerability issue of the poker brand names that operate under the Cereus Network had been announced making players accounts slightly vulnerable to intruders. First, PokerTableRatings and then the Kahnawake Gaming Commission issued statements towards the players to avoid playing on the above mentioned poker rooms using a public or unsecured network gateway. It seems that many players responded to this statement and as a result the Cereus Network suffered a 10% reduction of poker players on peak hours. This forced the site to fall from the sixth spot of real money ring traffic sites to the ninth spot this week as the Cereus security flaw was another direct hit towards the poker rooms that operate over the platform as the figures indicate an 11% drop on a year after year basis.
The network is unable to fight the big poker giants such as Fulltilt Poker and PokerStars where are running the FTOPS and SCOOP respectively and have managed to draw the attention of thousands of new players.
The drop of UB.com and Absolute Poker offered a lift to other poker platforms such as the Boss Media’s International Poker Network where sites as Paradise Poker operate plus sites on Microgaming Network such as Ladbrokes Poker that moved to sixth and eight places respectively.
The worldwide online poker community is anticipating from the Cereus Network Officials to issue a statement that the problem is officially sorted and fixed.
Tokwiro Enterprises is a private company solely owned by Joseph Tokwiro Norton and is headquartered in Kahnawake Mohawk Territory. The company owns two online poker cardrooms, Absolute Poker and UltimateBet currently rebranded as UB Poker. As of November 2008, they jointly operate under the name CEREUS Poker. The CEREUS network is one of the world’s ten largest online poker cardrooms and is currently as US friendly network endorsed by superior names of the poker community including Phil Hellmuth and Annie Duke.
