The first day of EPT Monte Carlo finished after nine levels with each one lasting for one hour. The Day1A featured 351 poker players paying the €10,000 buy-in in order to participate on this grand poker challenge. The procedure ended with 173 players managing to enter the main day event.
Simon Munz form Germany with 175,200 chips is the leader of the first day, followed closely by Swedish Chris Bjorin who managed to increase his stack up to 171,100 chips.
On third spot is Portuguese Antonio Palma with 169,000 while on fourth spot landed a PokerStars player David Paredes with 144,600 chips. Out of 173 players who managed to qualify for the main event, only 28 of them have over 100,000 chips.
The second part of Day1 begins today and it is usually much more crowded as there is the estimation that 500 people will take part of this event.
The European Poker Tournament is the biggest poker event that is held thought out Europe with stops on various cities. The European Poker Tournament journey started at Kiev where 296 players participated in the €5,000 event which produced a prize pool of €1,391,200. The winner was the Russian Maxim Lykov who went home €330,000 richer.
Second stop was Barcelona where 428 players paid the €8,000 buy-in. The winner of that event was no other than American Carter Phillips who secured the first prize of €850,000.
London was the third stop of EPT. The buy-in for that event was £5,000 and attacked 730 players form all over the world. Aaron Gustavson was the winner of that tournament who won £ 850,000.
Warsaw, Vilamoura, Prague, Deauville, Copenhagen, Berlin, Snowfest at Austria and San Remo were the next stops. Over 5,000 players tried to grab around €20,000,000 in total prizes and many of them were quite successful. The ice on the cake was of course no other than the win of Liv Boeree. The model and astrophysicist was the winner of the San Remo poker tournament which offered the winner the breath catching prize of €6,014,000!
