PokerStars Carribean Adventure World Record
Posted on January 7, 2010 by John Trevors for Luckyroom.com
A new record has been set by Pokerstars with 1,515 participants on the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event taking place this year in the Bahamas as last year’s Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, participations had reached 1,347. This year the winner of the prestigious event will leave the Bahamas by at least 3 million U.S. dollars richer! Chip leader of Day 1b is Brazilian poker player Anibal Tacla completing the day with 166,000 chips. Although respected, the stack of the Tacla is just over half of the stack of chip leader of Day 1a, Wayne Bentley! Further down on the chip count finds Annette Obrestad with 124,900 chips.
The “shuffle up and deal” in day 1b gave world champion Joe Book, who did not live to make significant progress in this event, facing an exclusion during the day. A similar fate had other famous players like Boris Becker and Alex Gomez who left the tournament early. However, several members of the Pokerstars Team Pro did much better. Vanessa Rousseau reached her stack up to 140,000, only to close the day with 82,200. A ticket for Day 2 also was secured by Peter Eastgate, William Torso and Van Den Berg.
