PokerStars Eliminates Currency Exchange Fees

The leading US facing poker room of the world has announced that it will be eliminating currency exchange fees to depositing players after complaints made by its members; it is well mentioned that the 1% deduction measure had been implemented by pokerstars.com after tracing a number of users signing up for an account and using the free service of the online poker room as a free currency exchange center; the changes that will be implemented by pokerstars.com will include an elimination of the fee and changes in multicurrency options that will allow players to smoothly handle multicurrency accounts regardless of which region of the world they live.
Reactions and controversy were caused when pokerstars.com announced that it will charge 1% fee each time players convert currencies so with the new rule to be applied it will waive the rights in respect of these charges, and remove the 1% fee that it takes away in deposits and withdrawals for supported currencies (U.S. dollars, Euros, British pounds and Canadian dollars) to other currencies, which however will be applicable to a 0,5% fee.
PokerStars noted that the 1% imposed apparently stopped individuals from using PokerStars as a free service for their online transactions. The popular poker room will now calculate the rate of a currency conversion based on a Reuters mid-market rate without any adjustments. The new changes are now in beta, and are expected to be launched officially at the end of this month.
