For the first time since its launch in 2004, the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) will make a stopover in Berlin to run the biggest professional poker tournament ever made in Germany. The event is scheduled to take place between the 2nd to the 7th of March 2010, at the Marlene-Dietrich-Platz in Potsdamer Platz, where a two-storey glass building is to be created specifically to host EPT Berlin Main Event and a variety of side events.
According to representatives of the EPT, up to 1.000 players are expected to compete in the Main Event, with dozens of top professionals to give the present. Among the professionals who have already confirmed their participation are Boris Becker, all members of Team PokerStars Germany – including the winner of Season 5 Germany Sandra Nogioks, poker coach of Boris Becker, Jan Chitman from Munich and guests from “TV Total PokerStars.de Nacht”.
In addition, PokerStars announced that it offers a guaranteed cash prize of 1 million euros for the winner of the EPT Berlin. “We are delighted that we will hold our first stop in the beautiful city of Berlin. The success was huge in the first half of EPT Season 6, with thousands of players to compete in the first six events,” says John Ntathi CEO of PokerStars.com EPT.
Next stop for the European Poker Tour is the Bahamas, where they will hold the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure which will take place from 4 to 14 January 2010, and then the popular tour will arrive in Deauville, France from 20 to 25 January 2010 in Copenhagen from 16 to 21 February 2010.
