Premier League Second Match Day Betting Picks
Posted on August 20, 2010 by John Trevors for Luckyroom.com
The second match day of Premiership in England has arrived with some very interesting games. On the first match day we watched Chelsea to prevail by an emphatic 6-0 over the newly promoted West Bromwich. Aston Villa, Blackburn, Blackpool, Wolves and Manchester United also secured wins while we had no winner to the first two derbies between Tottenham Vs Manchester City and Liverpool Vs Arsenal. The second match day of Premiership has another derby to offer (MON 23/8 – Manchester City Vs Liverpool) as well many difficult to predict encounters.
21/8 15:00 – Arsenal Vs Blackpool
Arsenal wants to achieve the first victory for the Premiership season 2010-2011 as they will host the newly promoted team of Blackpool which performed excellently after they secured a 0-4 away win over Wigan. Arsenal is coming to this match after the lucky away draw against Liverpool and the Gunners will try their best to secure a home win. On the other hand, Blackpool once again will try for the best but this time they will have to play against a better opponent.
Prediction: Arsenal to win 1/6(1.17)
21/8 15:00 – Birmingham Vs Blackburn Rovers
Birmingham secured an away draw against Sunderland last week but this time they host Blackburn which secured an important home win over Everton. The game seems evenly matched as both teams are very similar. Most Likely we will not watch may goals so the Under 2.5 goals bet will be our betting pick for this game 4/7 (1.57)
21/8 15:00 – Everton Vs Wolves
Everton suffered a surprising away defeat from Blackburn last week and they will try their best to get the team on the winning track. They host the game against Wolves which secured a home win by 2-1 over Stoke City. Everton has to win this game.
Prediction: Everton to win 8/15 (1.53)
21/8 15:00 – Stoke Vs Tottenham
The game between Stoke and Tottenham features two teams that failed expectations on the first Premiership match day. Stoke suffered an away defeat from Wolves while Tottenham was unable to beat Manchester City’s goalkeeper. Additionally, Tottenham suffered a surprising away defeat from Young Boys (although they managed to save impressions a bit as they lost only by 3-2). Both teams will try for the win but Tottenham is the one that needs it more.
Prediction: Tottenham to win 5/4 (2.25)
21/8 15:00 – West Bromwich Vs Sunderland
This should be a very interesting match given the fact that West Brom conceded 6 goals against Chelsea while Sunderland struggled to draw against Birmingham. Both teams have an excellent opportunity to secure a win so they will try to attack for the very first moment. Our pick for this game to the Over 2.5 goals bet 11/10(2.10).
21/8 15:00 – West Ham Vs Bolton
West Ham was unable to resist the home superiority of Aston Villa so they suffered a defeat by a 3-0. However the game between Bolton is a good chance for them to open their account for this season as they have the ability at least to secure a draw or –why not- to win as well. On the other hand, Bolton was not able to take advantage their home ground as they draw goalless against Fulham. The game should be a close one and as a betting pick we will choose the Under 2.5 Goals 8/11 (1.73)
21/8 17:15 – Wigan Vs Chelsea
After the surprising home defeat from Blackpool, Wigan has another difficult home game on schedule, this time against Chelsea. Certainly one game it is not enough to come to conclusions but it seems to me that Wigan will lose this one as well. Chelsea is just better team and the have the ability to score a lot. Our money on this game are on Chelsea’s win 1/4 (1.25).
22/8 13:30 – Newcastle Vs Aston Villa
Newcastle was not bad against Manchester United last week but they were not able to follow Man U when they decided to attack. They lost the game by 3-0 but showed some good elements especially to offensive deployment. On the other hand, Aston Villa seems better than last year as they easily won West ham at home by 3-0. Aston Villa wants to secure the third or fourth spot that will offer them the opportunity to compete next years Champions League. If they maintain the same level of performances they will be able to secure another win.
Prediction: Aston Villa to win 7/5(2.40).
22/8 16:00 – Fulham Vs Manchester United
Fulham secured an away draw against Bolton last week but this time they will have a much more difficult task as they host the game against Manchester United. Manchester United beat quite easily Newcastle by 3-0 and showed once more that will be prime contesters for the title along side with Chelsea.
Prediction: Manchester United to win 8/13 (1.61)
23/8 20:00 – Manchester City Vs Liverpool
Manchester City didn’t perform well last week against Tottenham as they drew goalless thanks to their goalkeeper. The Citizen were not able to threat Tottenham at any point of the game while at the very same time struggled to parry Tottenham’s attacks. This time they host the game against Liverpool which was unlucky to only draw against Arsenal despite the fact that they played with a man less the whole second half. It seems that we will watch a close game without many goals, therefore our betting pick will be the Under 2.5 goals bet 6/10 (1.60).
