Sega Poker Launches and Creates a Disappointment

What would a player that has been brought up playing Sonic the Hedge Hog expect if he heard that Sega was to be launching an online poker room called Sega Poker? Well in the very least a fully loaded poker room with state of the art graphics meeting the name of the brand that has brought up my generation with the ultimate gaming console the unforgettable Sega Mega Drive; well thats what we expected. Our curiosity was triggered to visit and sign up at the site in order to prepare a review after all the trouble that has been made around the issue at the recent meeting gaming operators had in London. Well unfortunately to say our visit to the site was very disappointing not to mention worrying as we ended up leaving not issuing an account and returning here to announce our major disappointment and warning towards Sega Poker which should really take this into consideration if they want to be treated with the due respect the brand they carry deserves.
Now before we lead anyone to any negative feelings its is well mentioned that Sega Poker has launched its online poker room on the well populated and respected ipoker network which of course does give it the credibility it needs in terms of software and network; as its ensured of liquidity great promotions and an overall highly trafficked online poker network. What is left is the most difficult ingredient of this recipe which is of course managing to attract players to its poker room in order to meet the poker network ecology prerequisites set by ipoker which will not be an easy job with a homepage looking like an amateurs comp.
It is only fair to say that from a brand perspective Sega does have what it needs to catch up with competition which does leave the question why a respected branded company would launch an online poker room and not put in the effort in making it look right. Why would a brand like Sega launch an online poker room offering 200% sign up bonus and not get the graphics right? It really does not make sense.
We are majorly disappointed by the fact that they have taken elements of US facing poker room Full Tilt Poker on their homepage under the online players section which was not even put in right as the padding’s are totally unproportional, not to mention that their deposit options icons are a clear blur copy paste from the same popular US facing online poker room which are a reason of losing respect and credibility when you can do so much better when you’ve got such a big name under your belt.
The Sega Poker site has been viewed by our editors in all commonly used browsers and in all compatibility views and it still looks wrong; it is honestly not what a player would expect from Sega and not a place where a new player would make a deposit or even more not a poker room that a player would decide to migrate to from any of the big European facing poker room like Party Poker which is its mother network’s rival at this point in time.
Something is really not right, the whole puzzle does not add up, we really do think that there something wrong; we have been looking at the site for more than 20 minutes before this post was written and Sega Poker should really consider making these changes as soon as possible as they are losing valuable points both in terms of players and affiliates which would of course be delighted to advertise a brand going years back in arcade and electronic games. Sega honestly deserves better than this!
