Is Christmas coming early at 888? UK facing and London Stock Exchange listed Ladbrokes plc. has confirmed to be in talks with 888 Holdings plc. in a deal that will enhance Ladbrokes to take over and acquire the operations of the brands operating under 888 including the vertical assortment of products under the 888.com domain in addition to Pacific Poker and recently acquired Foxy Bingo. The discussions which are still at an embryonic stage have not yet announced a figure as further announcements are expected later in the week or early in the New Year.

It is worth mentioning that this is the second time the two gaming giants move in to discussion for a deal with the former being in 2006 when Labrokes again was in serious talks to acquire 888 but when the deal was blown out with the appearance of the UIGEA.

At the same time UK based Sunday Telegraph reported that the initial offer from Ladbrokes was an approximate of 70 pence per share adding up to 240 million GBP as 888 is said to have 345,429,509 ordinary shares of 0.5 pence each in issue.

At the same time industry rumours confirm that both European facing bwin.com and Sporting Bet have both expressed their willingness to buy the triple 8 firm. However industry voices confirm that if a possible acquisition might come through it will most likely come from the Ladbrokes front as the new administration of the UK facing betting giant which currently focuses mainly on its land based betting establishments I eager to make a strong appearance and comeback to the web.

Bingo is hugely popular all over the world but has a little known history that dates back as far as the early 1500′s when it first saw the light of day as a lottery game in Italy. Known as “Lo Giuoco del Lotto D’Italia,” and played on a card marked with three horizontal and nine vertical columns of numbers; the game quickly gained popularity and eventually spread to France in the late 1700′s. By the 19th century the game had found favour in most European countries. The spread of this game across the Atlantic to the United States came about quite by chance when a travelling American toy salesman by the name of Edwin S. Lowe saw the game being played at a touring Carnival in Germany and had the foresight to recognise it’s potential. Lowe wasted no time upon returning to America in scrounging up some beans, a sheet of cardboard and a number stamp and making his own Beano setup. A group of his friends were enlisted and the first Beano game in the States took place right there in his New York apartment. The result was a resounding success. His friends loved the game and legend has it that one of them mistakenly called “Bingo” in the excitement and Bingo was born!

Bingo games popularity spread like wildfire and it wasn’t long before its commercial potential was realised. A Pennsylvanian priest, one reverend Wilkes-Barre, struck on the idea of harnessing the games appeal and having it played as a fund raiser in his church. The only problem at this stage of the success story was the limited number of unique combination cards at hand. With only 24 cards available the congregation was getting its own back on the good priest with a vengeance, each game producing a bevy of grinning winners. With nothing to show for his efforts but empty coffers Wilkes-Barre sought the advice of Edwin Lowe. Lowe, ever the salesman, immediately saw a far greater potential in Bingo than a new church bell and hastily sought professional help.

Lowe managed to enlist the services of Carl Leffler, one of Columbia University’s top mathematicians. Carl went to work on boosting the house odds by increasing the combination range that could be played and Bingo came of age! Although the results may have caused some disgruntled parishioners to part with their hard won gold, it did not dent the games popularity one bit and commercial Bingo was firmly on the map. This phenomenon quickly found its way to all corners of the globe and the bingo hall became the place to spend ones spare time – and cash. This trend continued for many years but, sadly, has been in decline over the last couple of years because of anti-smoking laws, crime and the fact that many of the traditional bingo hall locations where located in older, historical buildings that are being pulled down to make way for new developments. This decline in bingo hall availability and attendance has paved the way for the newest bingo development namely online bingo. Sharing all of the features of live bingo, the online variety is played from the comfort of the enthusiast’s home on his or her PC or laptop. Safe, cheap, private and convenient, online bingo is sure to take bingo, in all its glory, into the future in the style all bingo lovers are accustomed to.

The conversion ration you will achieve is largely dependant upon the source of your traffic.
Tips

SEO

SEO is an abbreviation for Search Engine Optimization. SEO is critical for the online industry. SEO in brief is the utilization of keywords to help promote your site. For and effective bingo affiliate you must tailor the SEO of your site to the market. Keywords are like flairs to the players which attract them. Different words have different effects on players.

Importance of branding and SEO

Having a strong brand that is trustworthy and reliable builds consumer and community confidence and will increase the player to payer ratio. The better the brand you have usually pays off in the commission you will receive. Having a ‘brand’ is not always possible so it is necessary to maximize the potential of your site by making the most out of banners, promotions and keywords. In general it is much easier to sell an established client than build a new one from scratch. Key points to consider in building your affiliate product

Domain name

Having a clear and memorable domain name is a big start in establishing yourself in the market. A clear domain name brings automatic consumer confidence and power in what you are saying and selling. Once you have established a domain name you will need to make the most of it. Creating a nice logo as well as a clean site design will aid in the process of getting consumer confidence. Your site should be easy to navigate and clear; the easier the site is to use the more confidence you visitors will have. Overloading sites with images slows the opening time up and consequently has a negative impact on visitors. Visitors want to important, interesting and reliable information quickly- this will in turn improve your conversion rate.

The cooperation of Phil Hellmuth and Ultimate Bet is one of the oldest in the field of poker as the popular online [...]

The cooperation of Phil Hellmuth and Ultimate Bet is one of the oldest in the field of poker as the popular online poker player known as the poker brat was substantially the man behind the growing success of the US facing online poker room part of the Cerues Network. Rumors, however, which recently saw the light of day, call into question the continuation of this cooperation as UB.com does not seem willing to continue to cover the amount of sponsorship Hellmuth requests to continue playing poker with the colors of UB.

Mike Johnson of Pokercast.tv, started a thread in popular poker forum “2 +2″ in which there are chances that Phil Hellmuth will withdraw from Ultimate Bet. Johnson believes there is a conflict between the site and the popular player, which could result the end of their cooperation. As Johnson states – whose opinion is always respected because of its position and experience – Hellmuth does not wear the logo of the Ultimate Bet for several weeks now. This happened in the recent NAPT Bounty Shootout – which was filmed for television broadcast. Johnson believes that perhaps Ultimate Bet is not willing to meet the financial demands of Hellmuth who will remain – possibly – without a sponsor in the near future.

Many believe that Hellmuth is no longer the player who he was once, and that the fact that he states that he is is the “best player in the world” is a fact that can true only in his own complicated head which is what drives him to do what he has done during recent years in land based poker appearances! Even so, however, Hellmuth is one of the most famous players in poker worldwide which, itself, raises his value in the marketing of the game.

The scenarios discussed in this thread, after the eventual departure of the “Poker Brat” from Ultimate Bet (ub.com), were many. The main were a possible integration of the dynamic Hellmuth to one of the two giants of online poker, PokerStars or Full Tilt Poker as their increasing popularity lacks Hellmuths contribution which does have a big audience behind him.

Of course, given the personality and character of Hellmuth, it is not sure whether he would like to share the focus of “spotlights” with other professionals who are already part of the teams of the aforementioned poker rooms. For this reason, a good choice for Hellmuth seems that would be PartyPoker – if and when, of course, the poker room returns to the U.S. market. As Party Poker doesn’t have a “No. 1 Professional” on its team, Hellmuth would be the” No. 1 Poker Pro of the poker room.

However, there is another scenario that Hellmuth can follow – if he eventually stops cooperating with Ultimete Bet as he can always follow in the footsteps of Doyle Brunson and set up his own poker room – although, as someone pointed out very successful, “Few European poker fans will want to play at a poker site, whose owner called some customers ‘idiots from Northern Europe’! All this of course will remain only in the realm of fantasy, until the rumors / suspects of Hellmuth’s departure from the Ultimate Bet will be confirmed.

It is worth mentioning that several problems with security during the recent past with the overall network hosting UB.com and Absolute Poker have of course driven players away and have downgraded credibility of the network in a whole. During this period pokerstars.com and fulltiltpoker.com have increased their player volume and their overall online exposure with pokerstars.com increasing is sign up bonus from 100% up to $50 to 100% up to $600 with the new PokerStars Bonus Code while fulltiltpoker.com has introduced a patent pending product coming under the name Rush Poker which has changed the overall concept of poker online. Just recently the latter has announced that its patent pending game has been released for mobile play which is also expected to increase the overall popularity of both its name as an online poker room and its new product.

As far as a possible migration of the Poker Brat to any of the above mentioned online poker rooms we personally would like to comment on the threads posted on 2+2 as we don’t believe that Hellmuth would take the hit on moving to pokerstars.com or fulltiltpoker.com as his way of thinking is just not fit to be confronted with Ivey or Negreanu; as far as opening his own online poker room we again think that its just not going to be a profitable business with the way things are evolving with processing in the USA. We would put our money on a possible retirement or a possible reinforcement of Hellmuth to Party Gaming as the brand is said to be preparing for a possible entry to the US later in the New Year.

With the opening of the online French market to online poker sites, PokerScout.com included in their rankings the newly created French domains regarding the inflow of “real cash” players after the alteration of legislation. Full Tilt Poker currently holds the second position on the world map of online poker sites for the last two years, but regarding the French market PartyPoker seems to be doing much better at least until today. PartyPoker.fr had an average of 660 players last week which boost them to the 19th spot of world rankings of online poker sites. PokerStars and Everest were the biggest online poker rooms in the French market. Full Tilt Poker and PKR were the last two companies that were licensed to operate in France as they obtained a French gambling license two weeks ago. In total the French government has issued nine licenses so far that include other forms of online gambling not only poker.

France passed the bill on the online poker last April despite their initial intentions to protect the state monopoly as EU forces all countries to liberate the gambling market on all forms including betting, online betting, horse races, lottery, poker, online casino and more. According to the Daily Telegraph that hosts recent statements of Mr. François Baroin, – the Finance Minister, “This legal framework enables us to eliminate the ‘black market’ by creating a legal environment that complies with the rules and subject to the relevant control”. Of course, what all the European online poker sites hope for is without any doubt the legitimacy of the U.S. market although it seems that U.S will adopt a similar plan like the French one – were each state will issue its own gambling licenses and will be responsible to regulate the online games.

Well the question has been brought up here at luckyroom.com headquarters and our editors are surely starting to wonder if the online bingo craze will end up being another online poker bubble. The question is surely an accurate one as the online bingo industry seems to be following in the exact same footsteps of the online poker industry which has more or less stabilized itself these days by allowing only a handful of sites to lead the industry and enjoy the fruits of the crop of advertising from some sites which have made online poker so popular only for the more wiser to enjoy.

It seems that another new bingo website pops up every other day as the particular industry is keeping major gaming operators alive and breaking up the loss they are facing from other gaming products they might be offering like poker or casino as in contrast to poker or casino the difference here is that revenue adds up from 5p or 5c tickets each time which basically means that players last longer and the catch comes slowly but it surely does come surely. It is more or less obvious that this industry is booming as simply going on to facebook and searching online bingo will solve the dilemma as the 2/3 of the population of India is trying to put a finger in the pie by getting a click and eve more a deposit which will keep them going advertising this product that they have been promised to be their life changer.

The bingo industry together with all the keywords that add up to its existence including bingo, bingo online, no deposit bingo, free bingo, play bingo and all the following are just being populated by new members every day as a new site seems to be appearing day after day therefore covering all the related topics and possible searches that can come with it altogether; for affiliates and webmasters internet casinos is last years news as bingo is the new kid on the block and there’s still juice in the industry as besides a few big portals that have been around for quite a few years everybody else is relatively new so everybody has fair chance of piece from this mid age cooked pie.

When internet poker started to become popular in the early 2000 webmasters that were in the industry at the time can remember the craze and the immense amounts of money spent by sites to be advertised with the dream that this was their oasis towards the American Dream; now what they hadn’t taken into consideration was that the bubble would some day end and all the money spent on advertising would same day vanish as new sites were giving players more and more and more while sites that have managed to seal their existence till this day gave players a silly $50 bonus; now for those not long enough in the online gaming industry it would be interesting to mention that until recently pokerstars.com which today hold the title of the worlds largest online poker room gave players $50 in bonus where competition gave them $600 so in simple terms they gave the players no incentive at all; now what they did is seal their existence and sat back watching sites toss money out in bonuses and advertising just simply waiting for them to run short in cash flow and step in to steal the show as they did last year when they just simply put all 20 fingers in the pie stating we own poker online; if your interested in this industry its too late; sorry.

Now back to bingo; My question is how can an industry that targets only 4 countries on the whole globe be so profitable how can an industry that targets a specific age group be so popular and even more what happens in 10 years when the 50 year old generation will all know to use a PC? Well lately online gaming giant 888 had reported that the only product of its offerings that is experiencing a steady growth is its bingo games which are hosted at UK popular 888Ladies and 888 bingo which is hosted under the main domain name of the 888 brand; that must mean something. Well with more than 300 online bingo operators online and more than 1000 sites targeting online bingo players the least we an say is that the best is yet to come as we do expect to see a number of operators merging and a number of popular domains or brands being bought out by stronger operators that might have the ability to cater bigger jackpots or bigger volumes of players due to compounded player pools. We just get the feeling that unbelievable bonuses, operators still accepting US players and tossing away cars to bingo players will just be a repetition of Boss Media and ipoker sites which have stepped back in the industry as the sport just became too expensive for them to host.

This topic can be attacked from so many angles making it just impossible to start from somewhere and end somewhere. To conclude we do think that this bingo madness will end at some stage as its just becoming impossible and unreal.

Our editors would like to make it clear to players living in the US which commonly are scared away from online gaming [...]

Our editors would like to make it clear to players living in the US which commonly are scared away from online gaming that the legislation regarding online gaming in the USA is as grey as it gets as it has not been made clear to what it right and what is wrong as facts are very commonly twisted in order to be in favor of financial benefits of the US government. The facts are that as of October 2006 the UIGEA (Unlawaful Internet Gambling Act of 2006) passed on during the presidency of George Bush has forced operators out of the US by applying a rule that favors their financial benefits and which disallows stock listed gaming operators to accept wagers from US tax payers or citizens which hold credit or debit cards issued in the US. This law has forced major respected European based and European stock listed gaming operators from blocking their sites from accepting wagers made by US players. Although many operators including Party Gaming had stepped away from the US market other like PokerStars have remained in the market and till this day run a start of the art poker network which welcomes US players.

Douglas Rennick, citizen of Vancouver has been charged with the accusations of money laundering, bank fraud and illegal gambling by the US Federal prosecutors. The facts as stated are that Rennick during 2007 and 2009 opened a number of bank accounts in the USA were the owners of the accounts were various offshore companies. The usage of the accounts was to transfer funds from a number of gambling companies to the games winners who issued a withdrawal request from online casino and online poker sites. The US prosecutors claimed that over 350 million dollars were transferred in the US and distributed to the winners from a single bank account in Cyprus.

However, Rennick pledged guilty to the accusation that he illegally helped offshore online poker sites to move money (players winnings) into the country and he agreed to forfeit about $17 million held in a number of accounts. The rest charges were dropped and now the Canadian faces up to two years sentence in jail.

Nelson Rose, who is a professor at California’s Whittier Law School and a gambling law specialist, said that this is an intimidation act as every few years they make a big showy arrest to scare people. He also said that despite the fact that laws do not apply on all forms of gambling or on all cases, it does has an effect as many online gambling companies have gone out of business as payment processors are every day less willing to take the risk to transfer money from gambling.

Rennick’s accusations were based on the fact that he didn’t inform the financial institutions (banks) that the money on the accounts will be used to pay gambling winnings. This was the fraud as the banks wouldn’t have processed transactions related to gambling.

Michael Lipton, a Toronto Lawyer said that while US posses a patch work of laws that can be used to fight online gambling, the officials rarely go after the gamblers themselves. Instead, they move against those who operate the businesses. However, he stated that it is almost impossible to stop online gambling outside the country as operators hold licenses from many international locations such as Isle of man, Malta and Gibraltar. People are free to play online poker, casino games, blackjack and place bet online while the government can do nothing to prevent it. Lipton said that instead trying to ban Internet gambling it is much better to regulate it creating the right frame law were the country will be able to receive further taxation money from countries that operate outside US.

It is noteworthy to say that banking institutions which are forced to play by the rules set by authorities have over time blocked transactions related to gaming to avoid trouble and over time have more or less made online credit card processing troublesome as regulated legitimate companies were forced to stop conducting business in the US therefore giving ground to illegal or fraudulent activities or even legal companies forced to run sister companies that were playing a naughty game behind the scenes to avoid losing their share of the market.

This sums up to one thing and only and this is the one and only realistic truth; as the current situation is a hide and seek game between banks, names on issuers of payments, offshore account holders and the government itself operators will continue to seek ways to process payments back and forth to players as it is unrealistic for them to step out of the market; for as long as the law is at its current state it will remain a game of hide and seek which will lead to fiascos of the sort mentioned above. The congress has to finally understand that the current situation does not solve the problem and it will only make news of this sort hit the headlines and supposingly become heroic acts with absolutely no reason.

So what are they trying to say; they managed to become heroes because they caught someone that had managed to set up banking facilities that was able to pay winning players or allow players to make wagers; this gentleman found an opportunity he had the connections to set up banking and he made a living off it; if they don’t like it they should consider thinking about the law in act at this point. The bottom line is that when a player wants to play he will play and keeping the legislation GREY will only give opportunities to fraudsters to process money from legitimate institutions and run away with it due to incapability of the institutions to go to authorities with a winning cased.

These news do not impress us one single bit a change has to be made and it has to be made now as the current situation is just leading to a total chaos.

Gibraltar Based and London Stock Exchange Listed Party Gaming PRTY.L is confirmed to be preparing for a possible green light that is anticipated to be brought to the US online gaming market (online poker specifically) in the coming year after positive signals presented from congressman Barney Frank and Jim McDermott’s. Forecasts of changes to the currently blocked US market (as of October 2006) due to the UIGEA seem to be proving accurate after major gaming operations presenting acquisitions and merges during this past year clearly showing preparations for a possible regulated but open US market.

An announcement has been already made stating that Party Gaming which amongst others operates popular online gaming establishments Party Casino, Party Bingo, Party Poker and Party Bets is going in full throttle on preparations for a possible legalization later this year.

It is well mentioned that preparations on the Party Gaming camp were more than obvious earlier in the year as the European Super Power had acquired the rights of use of the WPT (World Poker Tour) and its website which would prove to be a most signifigant asset in the case of a possible return to the currently oligopolistic exploited US market. Party Gaming which has presented increased profits by 27% at a time when rival 888 has dropped by 10% would be one of the big beneficiaries of a possible change in legislation as it is currently in the position to be offering a full range of class A gaming products ranging from online poker to online casino to bingo to financial betting and even sports betting.

It is worth mentioning that out of the total range of products under its wing its online bingo and its online sports betting service where the two products left slightly behind but have both been attacked as to be improved and reach the calibre of its poker room and its casino games with its online bingo been more or less a solved case after the acquisition of Foxy Bingo earlier this year. As for its sportsbook the Gibraltar based gaming giant is said to be in discussion with Austrian based Bwin BWIN.VI for a possible merge of powers which would undoubtly create a new superpower.

It is worth debating if a successful bill passing on poker as a skill game and not as clear gambling would mean a green light to processing and would more or less mean chaos across the industry as online casino players would be processed from operators as poker players due to common wallet features offered at the majority of sites; this would open the boundaries of processing to underground operations which leads to the best case scenario being legalizing online gaming universally in order to avoid operations moving in to grey zones. CEO of Party Gaming Jim Ryan has announced to have set up an operation in Los Angeles powered by 38 professionals which are currently making preparations as a possible legalisation would open the boundaries for Party Gaming to license the rights of use of its software to other operators which might not be in the financial status to comply with the regulations and tax regulations which could possibly set by the US senate for operators offering their services to US tax payers.

About Party Gaming

PartyGaming Plc (LSE: PRTY) is an online gambling company, well known for its online poker room PartyPoker.com and its online casino PartyCasino.com. The company is headquartered in Gibraltar Europe and is quoted on the London Stock Exchange. PartyGaming Plc was founded in 1997 with the launch of Starluck Casino from a successful partnership of Ruth Parasol with Anurag Dikshit. Prior to the introduction of the Unlawful Internet Gambling Act of 2006 which forced stock listed or stock listed to be online gaming companies from accepting wagers from US tax payers PartyGaming Plc held the world’s largest online poker brand (based on ring game revenue and number of players). Its market share has diminished since then but it remains the fourth largest online poker room in the world and the largest European stand alone online poker room.
