Gimbel and Reiman were the last two players standing. The last hand was one of the most exciting ones so far. Gimbel had TT while Reiman had 88. The flop came as T62 then the turn was an 8 giving a glimpse of hope for Reiman. Under a pandemonium a J came and it was all over. Gimber was the winner for the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure for 2010. Harrison Gimbel is the youngest participant who has managed to win the PCA in its history. He had managed to enter to the PCA final event after he won a $1,000 satellite just a few hours before the main event begun on PokerStars.

What stole the show was not the return of the NAPT, but the announcement of popular Playboy girl Joanna Krupa as the event ambassador on TV. Famous Playboy model, Joanna Krupa who has participated in the series “Dancing with the Stars” will be the ambassador of the televised broadcast of the NAPT. Her presence will be another reason for poker enthusiasts to look in to the TV show as the popular tournament is expected to attract hundreds of players from around the world as the event will host Greg Raymer and Daniel Negreanu amongst other poker legends and poker pros.

In reality The PokerStars NAPT has already started in the Bahamas with the launch of the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA) on January 5th, 2010 as the events are considered to be the first part of the actual NAPT; the second event of the NAPT will be taking place at the Venetian Resort and Casino, between the 20th till the 24th February and will be the Main Event of the Venetian’s Deep Stack Extravaganza. The NAPT will make its final stop at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut, during the period between the 7th and the 11th of April 2010. The buy-ins for the 2 main events are set to $5,000 with the organizers offering a wide variety of side events similar to that of the PCA.

A new record has been set by Pokerstars with 1,515 participants on the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event taking place this year [...]

A new record has been set by Pokerstars with 1,515 participants on the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure Main Event taking place this year in the Bahamas as last year’s Pokerstars Caribbean Adventure, participations had reached 1,347. This year the winner of the prestigious event will leave the Bahamas by at least 3 million U.S. dollars richer! Chip leader of Day 1b is Brazilian poker player Anibal Tacla completing the day with 166,000 chips. Although respected, the stack of the Tacla is just over half of the stack of chip leader of Day 1a, Wayne Bentley! Further down on the chip count finds Annette Obrestad with 124,900 chips.

The “shuffle up and deal” in day 1b gave world champion Joe Book, who did not live to make significant progress in this event, facing an exclusion during the day. A similar fate had other famous players like Boris Becker and Alex Gomez who left the tournament early. However, several members of the Pokerstars Team Pro did much better. Vanessa Rousseau reached her stack up to 140,000, only to close the day with 82,200. A ticket for Day 2 also was secured by Peter Eastgate, William Torso and Van Den Berg.

Updates regarding the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure will be found here daily
