World Cup – Paraguay Vs Japan – Betting Tips
Posted on June 29, 2010 by John Trevors for Luckyroom.com
The first Knock-out stage of World Cup 2010 in South Africa is about to be completed as today Paraguay will face Japan at 15:00 GMT while at 19:30 the arch rivals Spain and Portugal will battle for a quarter finals ticket. Paraguay is coming to this game as slight favorites against the “Blue Samurai”. The team from South America performed excellently so far in the group stage where they managed to finish at top spot with 5 points after two draws (1-1 against Italy and 0-0 against New Zealand) and a win by a 2-0 score against Slovakia.
Paraguay is not facing any injuries for this game and their head coach Gerardo Martino is expected to deploy the following starting line-up: Villar(GK), Morel, Bonet, Santa Cruz, Benitez, Vera, Da Silva, Riveros, Lucas, Ortigoza and Alcaraz.
On the other hand, very few people were betting on Japan to reach this stage. Takeshi Okada men however, performed excellently as they managed to secure two wins (1-0 over Cameroon and 3-1 over Denmark) while they lost by 1-0 from Netherlands. If Japan manages to win this game will write history as this will be the first time that they will reach the quarter finals phase. Takeshi Okada is not facing any major injury problems and he is expected to depoloy the following starting line-up: Kawashima(GK), Abe, Komano, Tulio, Nagatomo, Endo, Matsui, Okubo, Hasebe, Honda and Nakazawa.
Paraguay and Japan are playing completely differently. Paraguay prefers a slow tempo short passing game while Japan deploys counter attack tactics using the pace and acceleration of their attackers.
Online Sports Betting sites offer Paraguay’s win at 23/20 (2.15), the draw at 2/1(3.00) while Japan’s win is high at 14/5(3.80). This should be a low scoring game as both teams will try firstly to cover their defense. This is also reflected to the betting sites as the Under 2.5 goals bet is offered extremely low at 4/9 (1.44). Moving to the correct score bet, Paraguay’s win by 1-0 score is offered at 9/2 (5.50) followed by the 1-1 draw 5/1 (6.00) and then by Japan’s win by 1-0 13/2 (7.50) which shares the same betting odds as the goalless draw. Prediction: This should be the first game that we will watch penalties as both teams most likely will cancel each other. This betting option is offered at 4/1 (5.00) and it is our proposal for this game.
