What is unique this year is the number of low buy-in events. The tournament officials decided to satisfy the public demand who still eyes large pots but with reasonable buy-ins. All the popular games are offered to buy-ins that vary from $1,000 to $50,000. The WSOP started with the Casino Employees Championship with a buy-in of $500 and 721 entries who battled for the $324,000 prize pool.
